... Yeah, your company sounds like a lot, honestly. Gregor said something about how his manager was an amnesiac who barely knew what they were doing when they started?
[ Yuri pauses. Is it bad when Charles asks that, Yuri can't tell which job he's talking about... ]
I recently worked for an Office, but before that, I worked under a corporation that I guided Gregor's company through. So I'm not sure which one you mean... because they're both very much like that.
L Corp was the first company that I worked for was a really big company. I wouldn't have to worry about finances. However, the job was dangerous, due to what we had to interact with on a daily basis. It was a thing to be proud of, to work in L Corp. However, L Corp went under and its former employees were seen as outcasts. I was lucky enough that an Office picked up someone like me to work there, because it would have been impossible to find work for me otherwise.
You've really been through a lot, huh? [the vibes are sympathetic—but also, there's definitely a question in there.] ... Can I ask why you guys were outcasts for working at L Corp, or is that too personal?
There's a stigma that comes with being associated with a fallen sector of The City. Since it was widely known that L Corp had fallen, it's something that we have to carry for the rest of our lives.
... Scien wanted to hire me as his research assistant several days ago. Despite our current circumstances, he said that I could go to a different variation of his home world where a different Scien exists and with certain proof, I could find work there with lodgings and everything.
[ ... ]
I still have seven weeks to think about it, but it's clear that Scien doesn't intend to see it through with me.
charles thinks for a bit, as though considering his words.]
... If you can't find anything by then, I could try finding a job for you back home. I can't promise exactly what kind of work, but I've got a lot of connections. [a beat] Though I get it if you'd feel like my world's too much of a culture clash, since yours seems to be a lot further ahead in terms of technology...
I've been enjoying the nature sceneries a lot. There isn't much of that in The City, so the simulation rooms have been nice... I'm sure I'll like it if it's akin to that.
[ funny how yuri asked what would happen if something fatal happened in sim room and she got a taste of it
she'll probably stay away from it for some days. ]
Heh, yeah. There's a lot of nature, especially if you leave the bigger towns. I'm pretty biased, but I think it's one of the nicest regions in Orsterra if that's what you're into.
You got it. [glances over her] You're looking pretty tired there, so I'll leave you to get some rest. Don't forget to eat and drink something while you're at it.
[ Yuri just stares at the screen until Charles actually says something.
... ]
The state of being wet is if something is covered or saturated with water. Therefore, the fish are wet. If one asks if water itself is wet, then yes, water is wet, because it's composed of the very thing that makes you wet in the first place.
