also HELLO. jesus, that sure is a monster. the funny thing is she's... seen things like these before? not exact, but. monsters made of darkness, of horrible, twisted limbs.]
... No. [she murmurs to agnea, firmly.] No, it isn't. It isn't the end until there's nothing left.
[all she has is this sword, and - the metal doors are closed, and she's not going to be able to leave. but she won't let agnea not have a little bit of hope. the dawn is always coming. it has to be.]
-- Go, get down. Bang on the door. Try to get us out. You're not in any shape to fight.
[ Agnea nods and lowers herself as much as she can to avoid being detected by the Abnormality, but it sees. And it pounces. Roll a 15 or higher to successfully defend Agnea! If not, she will die from being munched on and we can add one more trauma to Throne's tally. ]
[ The determination from within Throne allows her to hold the Abnormality back from eating Agnea. Agnea holds back a sound of surprise, but she has the hope that Throne instilled in her, so she will commence banging on the metal door, in hopes that someone will hear and help them.
"Please help us! There are people here! We're still alive!!"
The Abnormality screeches and takes several steps back. It isn't scared by her prowess, but it grows bigger and bigger unless its top of its body can reach the ceiling, knocking some tiles out. The support structure fails in impeding it as it charges at Throne.
ow! first of all! that hurts, and that's an understatement. she's used to pain, she's used to monsters taking potshots, and she's... well, recently, she's even used to abnormalities stealing her limbs. so it takes a bite, and - she doesn't make a sound. she's so very good at managing pain, after all.
it hurts. but it doesn't stop her. she shoves her sword up into the thing, over and over. it can hurt her all it wants, but it will not take agnea.]
[ Throne's valiant efforts make the Abnormality focus on her instead of Agnea. Unfortunately, there's a reason why its risk level is so high. The attacks barely make a dent on the monster, but it now just straight up chomps onto an entire quadrant of Throne's head.
And that is the end of the memory. Alas. Throne did her best. The setting disintegrates and Throne will find herself in the void. She's all healed up as if all that never happened and Yuri is there, seemingly concerned for Throne. The psychological shock would have been massive, she thinks. ]
Throne...! Are you alright?
[ i'm also up for a memshare from throne! cyoa or view only--i'm good with both and okay with all cws! if you'd like me to pick a specific one, I can do that, unless you have one in mind for me o/ ]
[she comes out of it absolutely disoriented - she stumbles off to the side and immediately reaches up to touch her face, and when she finds all of it there, she kind of just blinks at yuri in confusion.
[ Yuri gets out a clean handkerchief and gently pats Throne's forehead and face in case she was sweating from it being an absolute nightmare. ]
It's also how I lost my eye... to that Abnormality, but I lived. I wouldn't dare to encounter it in direct combat. That's why... I thought you were brave, Throne.
[she allows this, though she is a little surprised at the touch. just a little jumpscare.]
... I don't think that makes you not brave. It makes you smart. You know when to not engage.
[it did in fact eat her head so like, y'know. she's going to say more, but she's interrupted by the rift! and a memory starts to play, abruptly.
you are six years old, and you have just returned from your first job. a blonde woman with bright red lipstick stands over you. she has a collar in her hand.
this is what happens with all the children, you've been assured. pirro himself told you. he already has his collar. he just got it, even - he came to you in the middle of the night two weeks ago and crawled into your bed with you, and cried against your shoulder until he fell asleep. when you asked him the next morning what happened, he lied and told you that he had no idea what you were talking about. but... now that you've come back, maybe you understand how he felt.
the woman - mother, as you know her - smiles at you. there's a tinge of disgust to it that she thinks you don't see.
she steps forward, and snaps the collar around your neck, securing it in place.
"It suits you, Throné. How was it, seeing blood for the first time?" she croons, resting her hand on her hip and admiring her work.
you frown. it was bad. you didn't like it. it smelled awful. you can still smell it on your hands, even though you washed them, and it's making you feel sick. so... you reply:
I don't want it on my bread.
mother snorts. she leans forward a little, with a smug smile.
"With this, you're now a proud little snake. Which makes me your Mother."
that makes you angry. you puff up a little, clenching your little fists.
No. My mother died. After giving birth to me.
and something flickers across mother's face - something like fury, something bitter and twisted and disgusting. her hands go to the whip on her hip.
"I will have none of your backtalk. If you want to live, you'll learn to bite your tongue and listen to me," mother snaps, and you scrunch down a little. the collar feels tight around your neck, but you mumble yes mother, and she waves a hand. leave. get out of here.
and then - without any sort of breather, suddenly you are in front of that woman, around seventeen years later. watch til 1:57:55!]

Barely, but... I lived. I was the only one.

Throne...
[ She quietly breathes out. ]
Did you feel better after that?

I don't know. Yes and no. [she says, exhaling slow.] I don't... I don't enjoy violence.
But it didn't feel bad.

[ That's what it seemed like to Yuri, but she doesn't want to assume. There's so much of Throne that she doesn't know. ]
