[ Now that the ship stops having random quakes, Yuri invited Blade to the upper simulation room by text. She offered to fight him, worded into combat practice. When Blade eventually gets there, he'll see that they're basically in a wasteland and Yuri has a glowing "something like a sword" in her hand. ]
[ Blade arrives with a swiftness like a bat out of hell. The picturesque (no) setting of a wasteland is the perfect background for a sparring match.
He already has a weapon, though he knows how to keep it at practice levels and not 'a fight to the death' levels even if he isn't about to hold back. If she is inviting him, she must be a warrior in her own right. ]
Let's begin.
[ Blade will allow that as the only warning; if she has a disagreement about it, she can say it now. He steps forward, also intent on making the first move, slashing towards her in a wide swing. ]
[ In combat, no one gets a warning. You either die or you don't. If anything, Yuri is quite decent with her speed, so she takes a quick step back. The others were right. It's nice not to get so rusty.
But she also hungers for power. Surely, if she can fight someone like Blade, she will have improved in her own right, wouldn't she?
After the quick backstep, she lunges forward for a piercing attack to the chest. ]
Blade is tempted to just take the attack to the chest but he can't battle how he normally does back home, so instead he pulls his blade back to intercept the piercing movement with his own in a guard. He then steps around and aims his sword in a little bit of an arc towards her sword hand.
Some might parse it as a test. The reality is that Blade is fighting seriously, and aiming to try to disarm her. ]
[ A sword like that is all about controlling the range around you, is what Yuri thinks as she tries to close in the distance between her and Blade. After clashing swords, she attempts to run past Blade and quickly turn to slash his back. ]
[ This time Blade isn't able to evade the slash quick enough, the slash making easy contact against his back, and the sting feeling very much real, but not very much being so in the slightest.
Though, it isn't enough to hamper his movement, having been hit harder than that before; and this time instead of swinging his sword, the man turns, sliding one of his legs low in an attempt to get her off balance or fall to the floor. ]
Yuri is absolutely caught off guard when Blade does that and falls on her butt. Ow. Her grip on the weapon is strong though, and she will try to get up as fast as she can. ]
[ The pitiful 3 stares right back at you in the eye (I know this pain, acutely.)
Anyway, Blade is merciless. Just like his mentor, Jingliu, he doesn't wait for her to recover company, actually going ahead to try swing with the sword in an attempt to disarm it when he thinks he has a good opening. ]
Perhaps she's thrown off by his merciless vibes, because he's successful in disarming her. Oof. There goes her sword, hit off to the side. It's out of her reach right now, but it doesn't mean that Yuri will let it stay that way, so she tries to get up. ]
[ This previous tag was practically a prophecy, what the hell.
I don't how the hell he can fumble going after her sword but maybe the 3 allows her to at LEAST get up without interference. Maybe he's having some problems, who even knows.
Or maybe it's because Blade's focus is on the sword, where he is going to try to kick it away because he's rude like that. ]
[ That is so rude. Anyway, I slapped the dice maiden awake and got a 14, so when he kicks it away, Yuri will go after it successfully. Fucking finally. ]
... Are you limited to disarming attempts because you can't kill?
[ The dice maiden officially hates Blade but what else is new, he has not scored above an eight this entire game...anyway.
The low score means he doesn't exactly have the right position to try to disarm her (again) because fuck you dicebot I'm getting creative. He can still attack her though, swinging the blade towards her left side. ]
You should know better than to taunt an opponent who can easily turn the tables on you.
[ If dicebot fucks him over after saying this line I'll laugh ]
[ --taunting. She failed at parrying so that's going to hurt her side, but she regains the momentum while gritting her teeth through the pain to pierce Blade in the stomach (16). ]
[ He gets stabbed in the stomach (7) because his evasion is low after the successful strike, but even through the pain, Blade tries to swing, though this one is more uncoordinated than the last (5), so it'd take a miracle for that hit to land. ]
[ She actually manages to strike Blade's, well, blade down to the ground (19), but doesn't do a follow up attack. Instead, she just stands there for a second before she decapitates Blade--
Just kidding. She just keeps standing there. Maybe it's the supposed simulated wound that has her stopping in her tracks? Maybe she's calling for a time out? ]
But, you shouldn't have hesitated. It might have changed that fact.
[ Blade says with a crooked smile that tells nothing of whatever madness exists in his mind, but his sword deflects the secondary stab attempt (12), more interested in blocking this one for whatever reason.
As for the follow-up? Perhaps clumsy, but a strike aimed towards her nonetheless, this time in an attempt to stab Yuri in the chest (4) ]
I already knew that I would be outclassed. There is no way I would be able to defeat someone who has had much life experience than I do.
But I can learn from them to get stronger, and that's what matters to me more right now...!
[ Perhaps clumsy, but Yuri will actually strike the sword away (20) with such force and swing her sword into an arc to try and pierce his stomach (11). ]
Can you even withstand the pain that's required to even achieve that?
[ Dice maiden is not working, but fortunately random.org is.
Anyway, there is no way Blade can keep himself from getting the sword knocked aside, though his tight is grip enough on the blade that he doesn't lose it. More importantly, he sees the strike aimed towards his stomach once again, and actually steps to the side (18) to evade the strong flourish.
Following that, he aims for a powerful horizontal slash across her chest (20). ]
[ Oof. Yeah, she's not dodging that. She tries to block the slash, but Blade is stronger than her, so the sword is basically shoved out of the way and she gets slashed. Yuri falters and collapses on the ground. ]
... Pain is relative.
[ She lost and she's not mad about it, since it was expected to her. ]
To get stronger would mean... I can protect myself better. I want to live. So I'll keep... trying.
[ The simulation turns off and the wound no longer exists. (yay) The pain of it still lingers though. ]

Your resolve seems stronger than before.
I hope that isn't a fluke.
[ Blade turns on the heel of his foot and makes his departure. ]
