[ Yuri is so hungry... so hungry that mess hall food wasn't enough, so she finds herself at the food court. The little cat robot is cute, but hunger persists. She turns to Todomatsu... ]
[ Yuri is at Hippitea today, in which she has little red bear ears on top of her head, but no other changes. She's drinking a boba smoothie in honeydew flavor all content while seated at one of the cute furniture until she chokes on multiple bobas and is just kinda... curling up in her seat with her head on the table. Help. ]
I feel like there would be drinks like this, but I haven't had the chance to drink them. It's too much of a luxury item for me to have, but since I'm no longer there, I can enjoy many more things on the ship.
There are unlimited clothes to try out too, and the music store... so many movies... It feels wasteful to not try any of them at any given time when I can.
Yeah, having all these clothing options is great! Though it still makes me wonder why we had to deal with just two sets of clothes for more than a week if all this stuff was here all along...
[ granted, it did make clothes checks during trials a lot easier, but fuck that. ]
Did you see the movie theater we got access to this week too? That'll be way better than watching in the rec room.
Edited (wait this is tuesday) 2024-03-13 18:33 (UTC)
I think it's worth to take the time to unwind a little... was there a particular movie that you wanted to watch? I haven't watched many, so I was hoping to watch some while I was on the ship.
[ Yuri thinks a flying aircraft place named after "Icarus' Folly" would have a negative impact on the business, but... it is what it is. Anyway, she's more here for the food instead. ]
Honey soy chicken wings... Have you tried this before, Todomatsu?
Oh, no, I don't even have a license yet. It was just a thing this sketchy guy we know arranged as a competition to determine who would get to be the protagonist of our show.
It was kind of like real life M*rio Kart, but, um, more violent.
[ Yuri watched youtube shorts of people being violent over Mario Kart, so even more violent than that... The other things he says confuses her. Was he also part of a TV reality show...?? ]
[ at some point while yuri is not suffering from baldness, todomatsu's going to try to beckon her over into a nondescript corner somewhere and speak very quietly. ]
Hey.
About that meeting tomorrow— I think having it on the ship is a bad idea, especially after publicly announcing it in advance and giving whoever or whatever is working against us a heads up as to when and where they should listen in.
I think we should do it down on the planet somewhere — one of the parts that's underwater, where the ship's communication system would have a harder time reaching. So keep saying it's in the lounge or whatever publicly, but we can privately pass the real location on to each other. Just in case.
[ Yuri thinks about this for a while, staying quiet as she does so and then shakes her head. ]
Those are valid points and I understand your concerns. However, I wanted to put it out there for a purpose. A part of it was so that the deceased could listen in as well, even if it's pretty much a one-sided conversation with them, and we don't know if they have access to the planets like we do. I don't think that I can send them a private message for it to be on time either.
Don't they see the delivery missions we do on the planets each week, though? When I asked how much they could see before, no one mentioned not being able to see those. I guess that could be linked to the communication system, but...
... I didn't consider asking him because I thought that would have been too easy, and that he wouldn't have an answer for us. He seemed awfully relaxed for someone who just got resurrected.
[ like, he doesn't know why the fuck going to the stasis pods to check if his body was still in there wouldn't have been the very first thing he did.
...unless he literally woke up in lucien's bed. then he guesses he can see how that would have taken a backseat. ]
But I think just "can the dead see us when we do things on the planet as a group, like when we do the weekly deliveries" is prrrrobably a simple enough question to answer, unless his memory of it got wiped or something? No one glitched out before when they were answering questions about that in that virtual world like they did when it came to other things.
[ honestly he doesn't either, but that shouldn't be a surprise since this whole conversation makes it pretty clear that he hardly trusts anything. ]
Yeah, okay. I'll see if I can get an answer. Maybe we can also look back through HER-MES in the meantime for anything that came from the other side that clearly references something that was happening over here on one of the planets.
ok, i asked and he agreed it was probably safer to try what i suggested! if you want to talk about this in any actual detail just come grab me at the food court
w1 monday
Is there anything that you would recommend?

anyway, he blinks in mild surprise at her addressing him, but quickly smiles and goes into charm mode. ]
Hmm... well, what kinds of things do you usually like? Sweets, comfort food, healthy things?

[ Comfort her in this never ending hunger... ]
Something that's hopefully easy to eat.

anyway, this is his new favorite place, and he's happily sipping on some boba himself until he... looks over to that table...
hurrying over! ]
Eh? Yuri-san? You're not dying, are you?
no subject
jk. Yuri covers her mouth when she coughs, freeing her airway from the bobas stuck in there. ]
I... I'm fine. I'm sorry to have worried you, if I did. I drank the smoothie too fast and had several lodged in my throat.
[ But, oh... chihuahua ears. Cute. ]
no subject
Ahh, yeah, you have to be careful with that. Sometimes it's kind of hard to tell what's coming up the straw until it's already flying at your throat.
[ kind of feels like there should be a "that's what she said" there but ]
Have you had drinks like this before, or is it not really a thing where you're from?
no subject
[ You know, apart from the murders and trials. ]
no subject
[ damn, his unemployed ass gets boba all the time ]
Well, I'm glad you're getting the chance now! At least there are a few good things about this situation...

[ Other than that, she doesn't know. ]
I've seen the theater. It's so big... you can even get popcorn for the full experience. Do you plan on watching anything there?

[ She looks at the high speed vehicles. ]
... would you like to ride one of those?

[ The betting experience... Yuri wonders if she should too. Maybe she'll earn enough for the auction? (she won't). ]
Let's go find ourselves some seats.

[ takes his mango habanero wings and his beer and follows to the seats! ]

... You were a certified car racer?
[ HUH ]

I mean, we don't actually have any evidence of that, right??

... I haven't heard of evidence regarding whether the deceased can leave the ship.

maybe just pass it on to the junior crew and like, one or two representatives on the senior crew though
