[ In the mess hall, the food is specifically for nutrients and are rather bland. Yuri seems to be eating them without fuss compared to other people, probably. Free food!! ]
The handwiches weren't so bad... maybe it's just the names that are odd.
[tray in hand, charles plops into the seat across from yuri without asking like a man with little shame. (granted, the conversation was pretty much an invitation, right?)]
Yeah, the handwiches were decent for free food. Just weirdly named and shaped sandwiches, right?
[ She was mostly talking to herself, and she's almost startled when Charles comes to sit across from her. It's really more of the fact that someone chose to sit near her at all apart from Gregor and Rodya. She still needs some time getting used to this sort of treatment. ]
Oh, hello, Charles. They were delicious. Head cheese also looked very nutritional and convenient to eat on the go, despite not being made of cheese.
Ah, yeah, the head cheese—I tried that. Didn't taste too bad, if you love meat, although the texture wasn't my favourite. I told Kazuki it might be better if we could dissolve it into a broth or something.
[ Oh, man. The possibilities from that alone. Yuri thinks of all the delicious things and then snaps out of it when she realizes that she's been thinking for too long. ]
I can't argue with that... it sounds like a luxury to do so.
[ Imagine being able to travel. ]
But could you tell me about the things you see on your travels? I'd like to hear a story... if it isn't much trouble. I wouldn't want to keep you from eating much either.
Nah, it's no problem. Part of the fun of traveling is sharing your experiences with others, after all.
[thinks]
Let's see... One of my favourite places that I visited was the village of Clearbrook. It's a sleepy, grassy little village by the riverside, so it's big on fishing. They've got two apothecaries there too, so you know if you ever get injured or sick, you're in good hands.
Depends on the apothecary, honestly. I wasn't around long enough to ever need their services, but I heard one of them didn't even charge if you couldn't afford it.
Realistically, it likely wasn't entirely smooth sailing—but from what I could tell of Clearbrook, it was the kind of village where everyone looks out for each other. You couldn't get away with that business practice everywhere.
Mm, that's right. To think that there's a place somewhere where everyone actually looks out for each other... I wonder if this place could be like that too. I think that would be nice.
