Mm... there are just things you can only learn if you venture outside of your comfort zone, I think.

I can't argue with that... it sounds like a luxury to do so.

But could you tell me about the things you see on your travels? I'd like to hear a story... if it isn't much trouble. I wouldn't want to keep you from eating much either.

Nah, it's no problem. Part of the fun of traveling is sharing your experiences with others, after all.

Let's see... One of my favourite places that I visited was the village of Clearbrook. It's a sleepy, grassy little village by the riverside, so it's big on fishing. They've got two apothecaries there too, so you know if you ever get injured or sick, you're in good hands.

Things like that... it wasn't expensive? Apothecaries, especially.

Depends on the apothecary, honestly. I wasn't around long enough to ever need their services, but I heard one of them didn't even charge if you couldn't afford it.

They wouldn't run out of business even if they did that? How kind...

Realistically, it likely wasn't entirely smooth sailing—but from what I could tell of Clearbrook, it was the kind of village where everyone looks out for each other. You couldn't get away with that business practice everywhere.

Mm, that's right. To think that there's a place somewhere where everyone actually looks out for each other... I wonder if this place could be like that too. I think that would be nice.

I think so too. If it comes down to it, we'll probably need it. [a beat] That said, your colleague is here, right? Gregor?

Colleague...

[ Oh, that makes her think and smile a little. Colleagues!! ]

I know Gregor, yes. Why do you ask?

Ah, I was just talking to him a bit ago. Nice guy.

He's very respectable. Rodya too. She also came from the same place.

[ oh but, wait. ]

[perks up because rodya has also been cool so far. but he nods.]

Yeah—not to be weird, but I saw you chatting on this [gestures with his i.r.i.s.] device?

Yes, there seems to be an interesting... function. I didn't want that happen to me, so I stopped using it.

Heh... yeah, I get that. I was worried that the same thing would happen to me.

As long as I don't use the messaging function, I think I should be fine from it posting things without my consent. The profiles have been enough...

The profiles are, uh, quite the invasion of privacy. Though so far messaging people privately hasn't gone wrong for me.

I hope that will continue being the case.

But I'll admit that the profiles have been useful for one thing. They wrote out everyone's ages.

No, it was at least three. It's as if they weren't sure what their age was.

Scien, Dahut, and Owner, right? Dahut and Scien are from the same place, so theirs is probably for the same reason. As for Owner, I assume it's because he's not human, so maybe he's immortal or something.

He said that wasn't a secret, by the way. I swear I'm not revealing anything private.

[ Yuri smiles a little at Charles's last line. ]

It's okay. I think it might as well be an open secret now.

I didn't think those kinds of people would have existed, unless they underwent a distortion.
