she warm. he shifts a little to kinda-- blink at her, like ? but it's good to have it reenforced that eating random food probably isn't a good thing, even if this is kinda benign. ]
From the pod? Good. You were kinda out of it that day.
Guess that makes us both spoiled city dwellers when it comes to temperature. New Sieg's not dramatic about temperature -- it does get cold but not like this.
Haha... The weather was definitely something I never had to worry about when I was back there. But I was also underground for a while, so artificial light was all I had.
It was like a research facility. It wasn't a prison, since I went there voluntarily. There was some sort of prestige to work in Lobotomy Corporation at the time...
Yes, because the Corporation went under and everyone associated with it carried the stigma of a fallen sector of The City. People become outcasts when they're branded with such a label.
[ Yuri's sole eye looks tired all of a sudden as she takes another bite out of the spicy potato cake. It's so spicy... but she's enduring it. ]
Yes, that is something that happens in The City... unfortunately. It was hard to find any Office that would accept me and my Fixer grade was low. No jobs mean I don't have as many chances to increase the grade, but no one wants to hire someone from a fallen sector.
[ he also looks tired. ] Oh, the vicious cycle thing. We have that too, but not exactly on that level. Something like where you’re from wouldn’t strike you from consideration completely — or it shouldn’t, and there’s stuff in place to call people out if it does. But, if there’s lots of people competing for jobs too, that makes things worse.
You mentioned fixers a couple of weeks ago. Are the grades like an experience or ranking system?

[ She just took a nap inside, really.
But then she sees Shu looking at her with a question mark. ]
... Is something wrong?
no subject
he just. puts the back of his hand on her forehead. squints. ]
You're kinda warm.

I made sure to clean it thoroughly... I shouldn't be getting an infection that quickly, if at all...
[ ???????????/ ]

[ taps the back of his hand against her check and then over her arm through her top. ] Like you’re just hot in general?

[ Little red bear ears sprouts from the top of her head. ]
I don't feel my body flaring up, so it feels a lot more of a benign effect. Um... does it bother you?
no subject
Hmm.
It was pretty sudden, rather than a creeping thing. Wonder if someone cursed you?
no subject
... ]
... It's not so bad being cursed.
[ Yeah! ]
no subject
You like it?
I think it depends on the curse. But none of them have seemed mean-spirited, exactly. [ nothing that’s been like CAUSE PAIN TO THIS PERSON. ]
And there is one that makes you heat up a room.
no subject
As long as it doesn't bother you...
[ She takes another bite out of the potato cake. It's spicy... but she bears with it. ]
no subject
Nah. With it being this cold, the heat's kind of a good thing.
no subject
[ What does that mean. Does this mean Shu is going to stay next to her like this?? Because she's warmer?? aaaaaaaaaaaaaa ]
I like the warmth more than being cold too.
no subject
What's the weather like where you're from? Does it run cold or hot?
no subject
[ That's not helpful. ]
The weather is mostly fine. Not too hot, not too cold... I had to deal with something that was unpleasantly cold once, but that's about it, really...

Underground?
no subject
Yes, one of the places I worked at was underground. We weren't allowed to leave.
no subject
...
That sounds more like a prison than anything else.

-- Wait, that's something that happens in your city?
You can get council bankrupcy back home, but they don't fall and you don't get outcasted just for living there.
