A little? We don't really have things like this where I'm from...not really. Space travel isn't anything new but you have to go through a ton of training for it. And we didn't have any real windows in the stasis bay, so they could've lied about where we were pretty easily.
[ but honestly...it's relieving to know nobody's quite sure about things yet. people are...a lot. mostly nice for now, but some are loud and some are alarming. yuri at least is pretty calm, though he does wonder how she's feeling about all of this. ]
Any preference? [ he's already wandering over to see what their options are. ] If we're both going to be here, it may as well be something we both like.
[ that's a normal, nice thing to do for a roommate, right? compromise. ]
You're not the first to say that. A few people here have never heard of space. But...you said you had two people you recognized here, right? Is that the same for them? What kind of place are you from?
[ this is more talkative than he usually is, but he figures he can give her options of what to answer while he's busy fiddling with their window. customizations...are great. ]
I didn't work in a specialized area that was about space, and it's just general knowledge. I'm sure it's the same for the other two, unless they have a side expertise that they didn't make known.
[ Customizations are great, because Yuri can see Shoma fiddling with their window while she thinks of an answer. ]
The City can be... a difficult place to live in, depending on your circumstances.
[ Great start. She's not sure how to explain this to a 12-year-old(???) either. ]
[ ...wait hold on. very funny because rodion didn't actually say yuri was the other person she knew, but he hears the capitalization of The City so he pauses in what he's doing to face her again. ]
Are you from the same place as Rodya and Gregor? [ she'd mentioned the city when talking to shoma earlier, so he's able to connect those dots. ] She didn't tell me much about it.
[ probably because you're a kid, shoma, but it's fine. ]
[ That's because Rodya is smart. Yuri isn't dumb, but she doesn't think she'll ever match up to her in like... anything. So she feels bad if she went through the trouble of not telling Shoma anything and Yuri just blabbers it out.
Hm. ]
That's right. We come from the same place. The City is a place that's very divided regarding many things, but especially the social class...
Rodya and Gregor work under the same company and I was specifically hired to be a guide for them. Working with them... the two and their coworkers are good company.
Just a little. I was only with them for a day, but their coworkers have very... colorful personalities, so it was nice to work for them.
[ And how to make this not sound so horrific... let's see. ]
I was guiding them through a place where I used to work. It was shut down, so it would have been helpful to have a guide so that they wouldn't get lost.
[ sometimes a day is all it takes. but he does not say this out loud. there's a noise of agreement when she comments on the personalities of the company because he at least got that impression. ]
...that makes sense. Better to have someone who knows the route than just sending people in blindly. And you guys got back out okay?
[ every time i learn something new about limbco i'm filled with fear. shoma is at least aware there's stuff not being said based on how rodion talks to him, but it's fine. ]
...kind of puts you in an awkward place, huh? [ he can't imagine actually being in the middle of something lke that and getting pulled away. ] Is that what they last remember, too?
w0 saturday
Is the situation too unbelievable?
[ tbf, she did see sidon and he wasn't hostile...

You can change that to whichever you want.

[ Like shooting stars and such. Nothing interesting, is what she seems to imply. ]
I'll be fine with whatever you pick. I went through most of them, and they all seemed nice.

I came here when I was still guiding them... or at least, that was the last thing I remember before I woke up in the pod.

... Shouldn't it...?
[ uh-oh ]

...I hope so, but there are two people here from the same place that don't remember the same things. I think that might be more unusual though.
[ noooooooooooo. ]

... I'll ask when I see them next time.
