I used to work for a major corporation that worked on providing eco-friendly energy. However, the corporation went under and everyone who used to work for them carry a heavy stigma for the rest of our lives.
anyway first there's another blip of sympathy. and then kind of anger? and then, briefly, why do people always blame someone for things they were told to do? ]
...I get it. When it's big like that, and enough people know about it, it must be really hard to shake the stigma off or even get people to understand how it wasn't actually something you did.
[ There's a small smile. Someone getting angry on her behalf isn't fun, but she feels some sort of warmth inside her chest. It's nice... people caring about her like this. ]
But it's alright. I don't plan on returning there ever again.
Scien actually hired me to do be his research assistant several days ago. I went to talk to him after the trial, and... it doesn't seem like he's going to see things through with me. However, he told me what I could do to go there and provide the proof so that the other Scien there would believe me.
Oh. [ this makes some sense, actually, and he considers this for a moment. for some reason he does not at all seem shocked to hear about another scien either, simply nodding along. ]
...we definitely have some time to think things through and decide where to go when the tour's over. But it sounds like a pretty good opportunity.
Huh? [ he was more focused on being glad yuri has another option that he somehow missed the part where he maybe should have reacted differently. ] It's...Scien told me a little, actually. But there is a theory where I'm from about the multiverse existing so there are different versions of ourselves, too. I've been thinking about it recently. So maybe I'm not that surprised.
I see... It's more or less confirmed in a certain way with restrictions back where I'm from. I also learned that Gregor and Rodya were most definitely from a different time than I was.
[ It's the question Shoma asked before! Congrats on learning about that. ]
Well... I certainly learned some things, but I had to pry it out of Gregor. He tried his best, and I can't fault for him for wanting to hide it from me.
The reluctance makes it sound like he had good reasons to hide it. [ i.e. something bad. ] ...but at least all of you are on the same page again, right? That has to help a little.
They're both after the time that I was pulled from. They remember the same thing I do, though I haven't asked about everything. I'll assume that it's the case, since there are many similarities.

[ Yuri waits for Shoma to speak, because she wonders if that was a lead-in question. ]

...by choice?

... You can ask me outright, Shoma.
no subject
Why? What caused the change? [ "why wasn't there anyone who would help you." ]

[ "If they survived." ]
no subject
Even though it wasn't your fault? [ hm x2. he's not sure he likes the implication about the chances of survival not being great. ]
no subject
Yes. There's really nothing I could do about it either, so I did my best to keep myself afloat.

Yeah? Have you already decided where you want to go instead?

[ we got aus in this shit ]
So I'm considering it...

I think so too, so I'll be thinking about it seriously.
[ ... ]
Shoma, are you... used to the concept of multiples of the same person existing at once?

[ It's the question Shoma asked before! Congrats on learning about that. ]

...are you okay? That sounds like it'd be kinda jarring.

Yes. It helps now... I'm not sure if Rodya knows that I know, but I will talk to her about it when I can.

[ Yuri sighs. ]
How fickle...

That's weird. But the memories are different. Do they remember the same thing you do at all? Like maybe they're from a time after that?
