Oh, no... I asked him to code it in shift cipher to see if it could get through the filter. It unfortunately didn't... The decoded part reads as follows:
[ She gets out a piece of paper:
Check with Enda Brat. Ghosts on our side from last Eudora tour. Same as chart. ████ ████ ████ ████: ████ ████-████ ████ ████, ████ ████ ████ ████-████, violent rage similar to our problem. Abduction seems cyclical. Looking to determine cause. We are made of memory. No corporeal form.
Yeah. ]
I put the censored portion over at the library so that Scien could see what was censored with mine.
Yeah. [ he did figure that out which is why he spent a bit reading it and assumed it's why yuri came to him, but he grins. ] That was smart to ask him to at least get that much through. It means we can try other methods to see what else might outsmart the censors. Good thinking, too, to show him. We can work together with him to figure out what's missing.
...Charles and I have been wondering for some time if they were with ghosts from the old crew. And more importantly if that explains why we're finding these datapads of information about them.
It seems that the dead can manipulate things in the living to an extent. The egg casserole was Eunhyuk's idea. The polyamory bird that Gregor talked about was Luke's. It also sounds like they get some weekly ghost visitors...?
[ ...
Yuri makes a face. ]
... Apparently the dead memory realm is called "Helly Belly".
And Mizuki was making fun of me for reading about poltergeists. [ HE IS VINDICATED!!! also i hate both of these things. ] That...makes some sense though, especially if they're just at the very bottom of the ship.
Luke mentioned that term to me, too. And Eunhyuk told me a little about it...the rats and the...flesh wall?
According to Shouxue, the rats are... tall. I would have thought the name was a joke, but I was talking to Mrs. Jingu and... she's too serious to pull that off.
[ ... ]
That's my first time hearing about a flesh wall though.
Bipedal rats who don't talk. He said they were, like, friendly though? I'm not totally sure how to feel about that to be honest. [ ... ] He said there was a wall made of flesh where they are, and that some of the locations they have access to are the same. That's probably how they're able to come back and haunt us, now that I think about it.
Yeah...I wonder if there's any way we can send them items and not just letters. Or leave them out somewhere for them to grab. [ but he has to think about this. ] Eunhyuk described it as "It's like a place where you would throw out junk or random scraps. A place rats would live." He likened it to a belly if the Eudora was alive, and given the shape...
[ well. he figured it was the very, very bottom where they can't access. ]
[ the way i also just realized this as i tagged you back and went on a whole spiral to someone.
shoma pauses, thinking back to what he said and then to what he knows about scrap. ]
...he said that he collects all the stuff "this whale of a ship" leaves behind. The "scraps", if you will. So...there might be some kind of connection there. Somehow.
Depends. You think it might actually work for that? I wouldn't mind if we didn't think we'd need it to catch someone in a trial, but...we've been doing pretty okay each week.
Oh, no, that's not what I meant. If you got an item like that it's yours to do whatever. And if someone else got one, it wouldn't hurt to ask if we don't think it'll be of use somewhere else. It's just that I know my eight ball only worked in trial to begin with.
I'm not sure about that, but it's worth asking? We could at least ask them if they know much about him. Confirm if he was part of their last tour or where he really came from. That would be a start, too.
Do you think it would be possible for them to slowly regain their memories over time? Because it didn't look like they knew much about Scrap before either.
[ ... ]
I'll let the deceased know too to see if they can find out anything.
I do, yes. [ ... ] Showing them some of the documents and videos people have been finding around the ship has helped jog their memories. I think it's worth trying now. And it's definitely worth asking the deceased to keep an eye out.
Which ones do you plan to ask? So that I don't end up asking the same senior member...
[ Yuri' voice trails off. ]
Actually, do you think a giant meeting would be better? If people don't want to come, they don't have to. I've been putting the documents out there for the deceased to see, but if anyone else sees them too, that's fine. And if I do it publicly, the deceased would be able to listen in too.
I tend to ask Metis these things, but I can try to ask Amalthea, too. But if it's anyone it'll be him. [ he's big fond of kittycat. ]
But a big meeting's not a bad idea. Shu and I were talking about a similar idea a little while ago. If we can time it right and make it for a time when nothing too insane is happening it isn't a bad idea to bring everyone, including the deceased, up to speed.
That might not be a bad idea on both accounts. [ as funny as i, personally, think it'd be to make a worm attend. ] Hopefully people would respect that much.
I think Tuesday's a good idea. Hopefully whoever gains access to new parts of the ship next week will have opened rooms and obtained their data by then.
I'll also get the samples by Tuesday. Some from us, some from the planet residents, and some from the senior members. Io said that he could help us with the equipment and such... unless you don't need it?

If only they could take a video... The camera from Scrap's store would have been useful if they could use it.
[ Alas. ]
But wait... the memories are stored at the bottom of the ship? Regarding the Helly Belly.

You're right. I shouldn't be the one to decide for such an item with a huge importance.

Actually, if I announce it ahead of time, I'll have to ask people from holding off on shooting curses at people.

I think we should have more information available from others and we can prepare our findings by then. Or is that too late?
