[ Yuri is in the lounge, trying to stack checker pieces together into a single tall tower. Her focus seems to be all into this, so it's hard to notice anything else. She has three more pieces to go, but when she puts the next piece up there, the tower crumbles. She was so close...
Yes and no. I've managed people who have communication styles different than what I'm used to. Psychic beings, individuals who can't speak, dogs. But I think part of managing someone is to find a way to communicate with them effectively.
[ Yuri nods to all that as she thinks about what move to play next... then moves her piece. ]
That's true. I was wondering how others would go about doing it. For similar work, I had to observe the subject to figure out how to handle them effectively. It made me think that I was taking the ability to talk for granted back then.
[ Yuri is at the strip mall when there's a sudden violent shake, flinging her to the fitting rooms in the back and landing in one of the booths. Maybe she landed in the booth next to Margaret? Or actual Margaret's booth? Either way, she's trying to get her bearings. ]
[margaret is coming out of her fitting room not getting knocked over by turbulence at all, even though she is wearing extremely tall heels. Also, fit check, she's trying on a skirt set]
[her style is unfortunately very professional and minimalist, but she will try to put together a casual-ish outfit for her. something like this or this.]
[ She goes inside the fitting room and changes into the clothes and ties up her really long hair into a low ponytail with the hairbow keeping it in place. She peeks from the door and slowly opens it. ]
[ Yuri will still be at the medbay! By now, she used enough of the pod to seal her wound at the very least and she doesn't want to be in the pod for 12 hours straight, so... break time. She's lying down on one of the cots there, so she's being responsible about being injured, at least. ]
We were on a mission to clear the storm for the ship and it came in the form of an abandoned manor... and we experienced an aspect of our lives, but warped.
Not... exactly. We were actually inside the abandoned manor and when we opened doors inside of it, we could see an "idealized" version of events that happened.
w0 tuesday
One of the pieces roll over to Margaret's foot. ]

Was that my fault...
no subject
[ Oops, she came off too strong there. Time to reel it back a little... ]
No, it wasn't. I'm just not good at it...
no subject
You had it pretty high. I wouldn't say you're bad at it.
no subject
[ With a voice that's a lot smaller than it's supposed to be. help. ]
no subject
[so sympathetically.]
But why...
no subject
[ But she also can't play by herself. ]
Most of the games need someone else to play with, after all.

[ Yuri sets the board up appropriately so that there are black pieces on one end and red on the other. ]
Who should go first?
[ also we can handwave moves to make it easier for us ]
no subject
[we can definitely handwave moves.]
no subject
[ She tries so hard to think about her first move. What should she do... does it even matter? She moves one of the pieces. ]
I was curious about something... did you ever have to manage someone or something that you couldn't communicate with?
no subject
Yes and no. I've managed people who have communication styles different than what I'm used to. Psychic beings, individuals who can't speak, dogs. But I think part of managing someone is to find a way to communicate with them effectively.
Why do you ask?

That's true. I was wondering how others would go about doing it. For similar work, I had to observe the subject to figure out how to handle them effectively. It made me think that I was taking the ability to talk for granted back then.

[she will move...a piece.]

[ This piece goes cha cha sliding ]

[ Yuri finally looks up. Wow? She's so pretty. She can't help but to stare... and those really tall heels.
Wow.
Wow... ]
... I'm fine.

Shopping trip? Such a relief, seeing as I have no faith in the drycleaning services.
no subject
Ah, yes... I pondered on washing my own clothes, actually.
[ Handwashing clothes like she's from ancient times or something. Good thing she has two of the same set. ]

I'm used to washing my own clothes a lot... they get dirtied after work many times, and I didn't have many other sets of clothes.
[ Enough of that though. ]
If you wouldn't mind... could you help me pick some out? I feel like I'm at a loss.

I like this one. Um, excuse me...
[ She goes inside the fitting room and changes into the clothes and ties up her really long hair into a low ponytail with the hairbow keeping it in place. She peeks from the door and slowly opens it. ]
